Fossil fuel transportation alternatives continued with the National Drive Electric week celebrated three “EVents” (the new ones were at the Anaina Hou Park — have you checked out that new playground, yet? — and at the Waimea Tech Center) where Ben Sullivan (he’s with the county — check out their new hybrid cars that meet the clearance requirements — who sponsored the Kauai Community College event) was “going bananas” with his band of volunteers offering free test drives …and, how about those compact electric bikes that appeared on the Costco floors? Kudos to all on a great event!
Meanwhile, the Aloha Ginger Beer (they were new, two weeks ago) sold out on their first day, and was doing a thriving business (everyone was talking about the mango thingie) Saturday… OK, check out Kauai Ferments with their flavors of Dragonfruit Lemon Lime, Ginger Lemon Lime, Hibiscus, and Lilikoi.
And, kudos to Dirk Soma and the Kauai Community College entrepreneurial class on rising HI Joe! that offers Hawaii grown, Hawaii roasted coffee … great place to stop and wait for the market to open.
OK, time to go check out the Career Expo that takes place, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. throughout the Kukui Grove Center … more doors to opportunity.
