Post-tropical cyclone Flossie passed the Hawaiian Islands to the north, leaving behind humid and wet conditions.
“As the remnant of Flossie gradually moves away and dissipates, light to moderate trade winds will return to Maui and the Big Island on Wednesday, where the threat of heavy rain will diminish,” according to the National Weather Service. “However, a trough will linger near Kauai and Oahu for the next couple of days, keeping a muggy air mass in place.”
Light winds will continue to allow a few pop-up downpours to develop, especially in the afternoon and evening. By the weekend, light to moderate trade winds are expected statewide, with just a few showers expected, the NWS reported.
