Massive choir a place for Estonians to find identity, solace

Tens of thousands of choir singers gathered in Tallinn, Estonia, on Sunday, July 7, 2019. Estonia marked the 150th anniversary of a tradition crucial to the national awakening movement and that inspired the defiant “Singing Revolution” in the late 1980s that helped the nation to break free from nearly fifty years of Soviet occupation. The four-day event held every five years unites the small Baltic nation of 1.3 million people in the celebration of their language and culture. (AP Photo/David Keyton)
