WAILUA — Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital resident Phyllis Goias said it was great to feel the sand, and Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital resident Efrenia Pagulayan was modest in celebrating her 89th birthday Tuesday at Lydgate Park.
