Olohena Road
What are the temporary metal plates on the road for? When is this road scheduled for full reconstruction or repaving?
The temporary metal plates in the vicinity of Hauiki Road have been placed by a contractor that is doing water tie-ins for the Kulana Subdivision.
Full resurfacing and reconstruction of the pavement of Olohena Road between Ka‘apuni Road and Kamalu Road is scheduled for construction in approximately March 2021, as part of a federal aid project for collector road resurfacing.
Resurfacing of the pavement of Olohena Road from Kamalu Road to Waipouli Road is included in the 2019 Islandwide Road Resurfacing project, as shown on the county’s Roads Division website. Bids were recently opened for that project, with construction anticipated to begin later this year.
