Wow! Mary Lardizabal said The Aloha Keiki Fest, a fundraiser for the Kapaa Middle School Choir and Ukulele Band, is from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday at the Kauai Veterans Center. This is a great event with free admission (donations welcomed at the door) and features other talented Kauai keiki, including the Joyful Noise taiko ensemble, the Kapaa Elementary School Kid Fit (they were great last year!), the King Kaumualii Dance Group, KUGA (Kauai Underground Artists) Dance, Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Ukulele Band, the Kilauea Dchool drama class (they’ve got their student production coming up, too), and the Wilcox School Creative Arts Program.

Happy birthday to Kylan Constantino, who did not even hint that his special day was coming up during the Catholic church’s vicariate (islandwide) youth event at Kauai Community College!
And happy birthday to Liberty the eagle, the inflatable, who was at the Martin Luther King Day event at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church in Lihue. Mark Jeffers said Liberty was created by Australian artist Evelyn Roth a year ago, and was being helped by Ellen Falconer, who knew about the eagle heirarchy when cutting fish.
