Happy birthday to Aiden Gadingan who celebrated his birthday with family and friends (even Tori Kagawa came over for the shindig), Sunday with a big party at the Fun Factory at the Kukui Grove Center! Grandma Faith Gadingan said Aiden was diagnosed with Acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (or ADEM) on Aug. 1 and was air ambulanced to the Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children where he was hospitalized until Nov. 14.

Grandma said Aiden has been getting a lot of support from the Kekaha Elementary School, and even has a special The Joy of Christmas light display at the St. Raphael Church (only two more weekends left to enjoy the light displays) where the family are members…stay tuned for more details on a fundraiser the family is doing in March to help with Aiden’s medical expenses.
Congratulations to Jen Chahanovich and the Kauai Medical Clinic ‘ohana on the groundbreaking of the new Kapaa clinic that will be located in the clock tower at the Kauai Village Shopping Center! They plan to be open in the larger and more expanded facilities by the end of summer. The crew was enjoying some snacks from Marlena Patterson of VIP Treats &Sweets (they do malasadas to order on select days of the week), and Marlena (kudos on the acceptance of her daughter to veterinary school in Scotland!) is thinking ahead to Malasada Tuesday, already.
