LIHUE — Scott Mangis, who goes by the name Ed Daruma, will share the story of his spiritual journey as a retired U.S. Marine, doctoral student, financial analyst and Zen monk.
Scott Mangis and his teacher Jinen Roshi will be in Hawaii for the annual fall meeting of the Hawaii Soto Mission Association this weekend in Honolulu. Mangis will be confirmed as a ministerial candidate in the Soto Shu tradition.
His talk is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Kauai Soto Zen Temple Zenshuji in Hanapepe.
The public is welcome to hear his story and ask questions.
