Mary Basug Abara
Mary Basug Abara, 91, of Koloa, passed away on Sept. 12, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 9, 1927 in New Mill, Kauai, she was a retired housekeeper with Waiohai and a produce clerk with Sueoka Market.
She was preceded in death by husband, Augustine M. Abara; son, Rudolpho “Rudy” Abara; daughter, Evelyn Branco; granddaughter, Caryn Abara; and sister, Florentina Basug.
She is survived by sons, Orlando (Carol) Abara of Omao and William (Rocchelle) Abara of Koloa; son-in-law, Allan Branco of Kapaa; daughters, Leonida (James) Cuaresma of Wailua, Evangeline (Robert) Cuaresma of Kapaa; daughter-in-law, Juanita Abara of Lihue; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Cely Reyes of Ewa Beach; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, Oct. 6, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa from 9 to 10:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Raphael Church Cemetery in Koloa. The family suggests casual attire.

Helen Carreira
Helen Carreira, 98, of Lihue, passed away at Garden Isle Health Care on Sept. 17, 2018. She was born in Hanamaulu on June 14, 1920, and was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband, Alexander Carreira; son, Bernard Carreira; parents, Joseph and Mary Nobriga Sr.; sisters, Carrie Silva and Violet Fernandez; and brothers, Joseph Nobriga Jr., Edward Nobriga and David Nobriga.
She is survived by daughter, Brenda (Paul) Robitaille; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 9 to 9:45 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Paulina L. Gonzales
Paulina L. Gonzales, 89, of Kapaa, passed away on Sept. 15, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
She was born on Feb. 7, 1929, in Waipahu, Oahu, and was a retired sales clerk.
She was preceded in death by husband, Robert G. Gonzales and son, Robert E. Gonzales.
She is survived by daughters, Beverly (Merle) Patnode of Washington, Marilyn (Mark) Music of Texas, Evelyn (Jim) Wasson of South Carolina, Clarice (Michael) Callejo of Kapaa; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-
grandchildren; sisters, Sally (Mac) Cabalo of Puhi, Fely (Tino) Cabotaje of California and Maggie (Sidney) Mission of Makaweli; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Paul Parongao
Paul Parongao, 86, of Eleele, passed away on Sept. 14, 2018, at Hale Kupuna Heritage Home.
Born on June 27, 1932 in Eleele, he was a retired welder and security guard. He also served in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by father, Vicente Parongao; mother, Romana Navarro Manilog; brothers, Aladiano “Al” Parongao and Tom Parongao; and sisters, Helen Parongao Neves and Josephine “Pena” Parongao Perez.
He is survived by wife, Juanita “Nita” Batis Parongao; sons, Vincent (Joanne) Parongao of Waimea, Vaughn (Iris) Parongao of Eleele, Vernon (Josie) Parongao of Kalaheo, Lance (Emmylou) Parongao of Eleele and Kyle (Christie) Parongao of Eleele; daughter, Lianne (Kiha) Parongao of Hilo; grandchildren, Jordan Parongao, Jaron Parongao, Cole Parongao, Chase Parongao, Braxton Parongao, Qyla Parongao, Quincee Parongao, Macey Parongao, Kaeo Parongao, Ky Parongao, Kylen Parongao and Gavin Miyazaki; great-grandchild, Zavyn Niau; stepmother, Gloria Parongao; brother, John Parongao of Kalaheo; sisters, Trinidad Parongao Peralta of Kekaha and Amy Lyn Parongao of Oahu; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joshua Orion Bradbury
Joshua Orion Bradbury, 30, of Kekaha, passed away on Aug. 28, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on May 18, 1988, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital, he was a painter.
He is survived by parents, Roby and Malia Bradbury of Kekaha; sister, Jazzelyn Tiare Bradbury of California; paternal grandparents, CJ (Alexa) Bradbury of Californnia and Joan Bradbury of Kekaha; maternal grandparents, Walter Joseph (Deena) Fernandez III of California and Lei (Verl) Stanford of California; niece, Serenity Kealii Hill; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, Oct. 13, at Omao Ranch Lands on Koloa Road at 5 p.m.
