Robert Sueo Higashi
Robert Sueo Higashi, Sr., 84 years old, of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on June 24, 2018, in Lihue, Kauai. Born on March 18, 1934, in Waimea, Kauai. Robert was a medical specialist and also he was in the United States Army.
He is survived by his sons, Dwayne (Tammy) Higashi of Eleele, Robert Higashi of Olympia, Washington; hanai-son, Jay Oyama of Oahu; daughters, Tammy (Mativa) Tupe of Kamuela, Hawaii, Blanche Higashi of Kekaha; hanai-son, Jay Oyama; grandchildren, Tasha Rita, Malia Rita, April Rita, Christopher Vidinha, Damien Higashi, Brianni Higashi, Leilani Higashi, Rachelle Higashi, Josie Higashi-Sasaki, Elray Tupe, Kainoa Tupe, Royce Kawamura, Ryan Kawamura; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Kathy Saiki of Honolulu and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Kekaha Boat House. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. and services will be from 10 a.m. to noon.
A luncheon will be held after the services.
Scattering of ashes to follow. Aloha attire suggested.
Jane Satsuko Kashiwabara
Jane Satsuko Kashiwabara, 84, of Lihue, passed away at home on July 13, 2018. She was born in Kapaa, Kauai, on Oct.21, 1933, was a dedicated homemaker and volunteered with County Agency of Elderly Affairs.
Jane is survived by her husband, Richard Kashiwabara Sr.; children, Amy (Wayne) Arakaki, Grace (Danny) McCluskey, Dean (Yang) Kashiwabara, Willy (Lani) Kashiwabara, Ken Kashiwabara, Richard Kashiwabara Jr., Susan (Rolland Jr.) Peahu, Sharon Kashiwabara, Carol Orr; 19 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister, Alice Victorino; sister-in-law, Mini Maeno; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at Kauai Veterans Center in Lihue with visitation from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. and services beginning at noon. A private burial will be held at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Marciano R. Ulep
Marciano R. Ulep, 64 years old, of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on July 2, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on April 20, 1953, in San Nigolas, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, he was a custodian.
He is survived by his wife, Erlinda Ulep of Lihue; son, Menard Jim Ulep of Philippines; daughters, Marlyn U Felipe of Lihue, Michelle Ulep of Philippines; grandchildren, Hailey Hiilani Felipe, Jazlyn Mae Felipe, Lance Michael Agustin, Leghmiel Aldrica Agustin, Heaven Leandriegh Agustin; parents, Restifuro and Catalina Ulep; brothers, Florante Ulep of CA, Isabelo Ulep of Philippines, Hospicio Ulep of Philippines, Teodoro Ulep of CA; sister, Nena Pascua of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai from 4:30 to 9 p.m. with services to will be celebrated at 6 p.m.
Casual attire suggested.
Burial will take place in the Philippines.

Gareth Akito Ueno, 83 years old of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on May 20, 2018, at his home in Kekaha, Kauai. Born on Nov. 24, 1934, in Waimea, Kauai, he was a medical laboratory supervisor/assistant x-ray technician and also served in the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tadakiyo and Asayo Ueno; son, Steven Curt Ueno; brother, David K. Ueno and sister, Irene Nozaki.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Fuertes Ueno; sons, Brian (Charlene) Ueno, Drew (Mel) Kapono; step-son, Ryan (Kathy) Baniaga; hanai son, Tony (Heather) Howland; daughter, Marla (Brian) Rabago; step-daughters, Sandra (Kent) Baniaga Brown, Sharla Baniaga, Raenella Fuller; grandchildren, Charles and Scot Rabago, Drew, Chesey Ueno, Devon Ueno; step-grandchildren, Marcy Brown, Morris Brown, Brysen Baniaga; 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, David (Carol) Fuertes; nephew, Owen and Marlyn Ueno; grand niece, Trina Ueno, Nozaki and Takata family; hanai family, Bryce Howland and Mark and PJ Isoshima.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Kaumakani Methodist Church from 9 to 9:45 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment to follow at Kauai Veterans cemetery. Casual attire suggested.

Francisca Ragasa Raguindin, 87 years old of Eleele, Kauai, passed away on July 7, 2018, at her home in Eleele. She was born on Aug. 21, 1930, in the Philippines.
She is survived by her daughter, Frances (Fernando) Constantino of Eleele; grandson, Kylan Constantino of Eleele; granddaughter, Katelyn Constantino of Eleele; 3 brothers in the Philippines; 2 sisters in the Philippines.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. where mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. There will be a burial to follow at St. Raphael’s Church cemetery in Koloa.
