The reward for the return of a dog last seen in Kekaha has been increased to $1,200.
“We’re still hopeful for the dog’s return,” said Susan LeDuc.
LeDuc, who lives in Bountiful, Utah, said the therapy dog belongs to her granddaughter, 16, who was visiting her father when the 50-pound Newfoundland got away last month. It was recently spotted on Kekaha Road, LeDuc said, which meant it had only traveled about two miles from the home where it was staying.
LeDuc bought the dog for the teen six months ago to help her deal with personal challenges. It has become a trusted companion for the girl, who is from Arizona and badly misses and needs the dog as it provides comfort in difficult times.
If found call (801) 455-6021, or take the dog to the humane society.
