Some of Kauai’s young baseball players were recognized as among the best in the state.
ScoringLive released its All-Hawaii baseball selections for Division I and Division II on Wednesday.
Kapaa High School infielders Kade Kupihea and Ka’imi Malina were named to ScoringLive’s Division II first team.
Both were also selections of the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II All-Tournament Team following the 2018 Wally Yonamine Foundation Baseball Championships state tournament.
Kupihea was named as the first team’s second baseman, and Malina was named as a utility player.
Named to ScoringLive’s Division II second team are Kauai High School pitcher Christian Manera, Kauai catcher Skyler Sadora, Kauai outfielder Hoku Parbo and Kapaa utility Nainoa Cardinez.
Those who received honorable mentions are:
w Kauai: Jacob Borrero (pitcher, infielder), Ethan Gray (outfielder), Ricky Rego (infiedler)
w Kapaa: Levi Cummings (infielder), Ka’eo Kamau (catcher, pitcher), Ekolu Rivera (infiedler)
w Waimea: Lacin Montemayor (infielder, outfielder)
Kapaa varsity baseball head coach Bryan Aiwohi was in consideration for Coach of the Year.
Damien Memorial School’s Jordan Donahue was named ScoringLive’s Division II Player of the Year, and Farrington High School coach Eric Tokunaga was named Division II Coach of the Year.
