LIHUE — The first 100 keiki (no adult stand-ins) at the Kauai Community Market on Oct. 28 will receive free pumpkins — just in time for Halloween carving.
A partnership between the Kauai Community College and the Kauai County Farm Bureau, the Kauai Community Market is open on Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Kauai Community College parking lot (you can see Ferdinand Dosono of Kauai Kim Chee manning the grill for their kim chee burgers) fronting Kaumuali‘i Highway in Puhi.
The market offers farm fresh produce from Kauai’s farmers and vendors utilizing Kauai Grown items, the latest edition having Kimberly Hope McDonough enhancing the air with her violin music.
The Kauai Community Market’s sister marketplace is the Kauai Culinary Market on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at The Shops at Kukuiula and featuring a weekly Chef’s Demo.
