WAILUA – Golfers are advised that the installation of a new irrigation system
will require temporary modifications at Wailua Golf Course.
Beginning March
6, renovation of the irrigation system is scheduled to begin.
In order to
accommodate 18-hole play during construction, a rotation has been developed
which calls for closure of two holes at a time.
For the week of March 6,
holes three (3) and four (4) will be closed, and holes one (1) and nine (9)
will be modified to par three’s.
This work was previously scheduled to
begin on February 28, but has been delayed one week because some construction
materials have not been received.
The $2.3 million irrigation project
includes irrigation system renovation, installation of an irrigation supply
pipeline and reservoir renovations.
Work on the irrigation supply pipeline
and the reservoir will commence on February 28, however it will not impact golf
course operations.
The project should be completed in approximately three
months.
