– Miyoshi is RC top qualifierLIHU’E — Kelsey Miyoshi dominated the
Modified Electric Sedan Class and he was also the Top Qualifier of the day in
the Garden Isle RC Racers remote-controlled model vehicle event last week at
the Big Kmart parking lot.
Reggie Aribon won the Gas Sedan A Class and
Casey Koerte took a victory in the Gas Sedan B Class, while Benson Tabata was
the winner in the Open Gas Truck Class.
Other competitors included Arnold
Morales, Roland Ruiz, Roy Higa, Bart Garcia, Rick Rohl, Kim Nichols, Rey
Agcaoili, Kaikea Kaanaana, Rory Salvatore, Kurt Bacio, and Wes Doi.
The
next race is set for this Sunday at the Big Kmart parking lot.

– Boyce shoots ace at
Puakea
LIHU’E — W.R. Boyce knocked in a hole-in-one at the Grove Farm Golf
Course at Puakea recently.
Boyce, a Lihu’e resident, used a 6-iron to ace
the 130-yard 8th hole.
– Martin baseball starts today
KAPA’A —
The annual Ron Martin Baseball Tournament will start today and run through
Saturday at the Kapa’a High School field.
Host Kapa’a opens the tournament
today at 10 a.m. against Waimea. Waimea goes up against Roosevelt at noon,
while Pahoa clashes with Kaua’i High at 2 p.m.
Games are also scheduled for
10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. tomorrow, and at 9 and 11 a.m. and 1 and 3 p.m. on
Saturday.
