Ito
finished the first nine holes of the second round in a 3-over 39 but played
even par the rest of the way. She was the only golfer to shoot under par for
the tournament (1-under).
Waiakea easily won the team competition with a
15-stroke win over Hilo.
Seabury Hall’s Joan Shimozaki and Waiakea’s Leah
Whiting finished tied for second at 149 (5-over).
Defending state champion
Shayna Miyajima of Baldwin finished fourth at 152 (8-over).
Kaua`i High
School’s Lehua Wise, carding a 162 tournament total, was the first Kaua`i
winner, placing tenth overall, tying with Lisa Kajihara of King
Kekaulike.
Kaua`i High School’s team finished third overall with a total of
510. Kapa`a High School’s team was tenth overall with a total of
600.
