WAIMEA — The annual Solipsys Corporation scholarship is taking a high-tech
twist this year, as participants will visit Web sites and answer
technology-related questions based on information available at the
sites.
The Solipsys Corporation Tech-Know Challenge 2000 was announced
recently by Solipsys Corporation of Laurel, Md. and Waimea, and will ask
students in three age groups to visit 10 to 15 Web sites and answer questions
based on the information.
The effort is to promote the World Wide Web as a
learning opportunity for Kaua’i keiki. Specific sites and questions are
currently being selected with the assistance of Solipsys’ technical staff, as
well as employees’ children in their respective age groups.
The contest
will run throughout the summer, with all correct entries entered into drawings
for several prizes in each age category, for a total of $2,000 in cash
scholarship awards.
The first 200 correct entries will also garner those
participants official contest T-shirts.
