KYBA hoops at Kalaheo NC

KALAHEO—Basketball action resounded through the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center as

KYBA hosted a total of five games Saturday afternoon.

The games involved a

single 10-Under boys game, two 14-Under boys, and a pair of 14-Under girls

contests.

Pono Perez and Justin Ramos combined for 19 points to lead the

Lihu`e And 1’s to a 43-16 win over the Kaua`i Magic in KYBA 10U boys basketball

played Saturday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.

Braxton Garma and Devin

Tavana led the Magic with 6 points apiece and Sean Inouye and James Yamamoto

adding a pair apiece in the game.

Jordon Dizon, Joshua Cabral, and Jeremy

Manuel paced the Kaumakani Supersonics to a 48-25 win over the Lihu`e 5-O’s in

14U boys hoops that followed the 10-Under game.

Dizon ended the day with

high-point honors at 13 points followed a digit back by Cabral, and Manuel

ending the day with 11 points.

Houston Aki and Kevin Cadiente paced the

Lihu`e scoring with 8- and 7-point games.

Jordan Shea, Luke Tsuchiya, and

Kawika Hepa moved the Westside Hornets to a 50-44 win over the Kilauea Warriors

as Shea and Tsuchiya ended the day with 12-point showings and Hepa notching 11

markers.

Kahua Hollinger came off a 12U championship game Friday night to

lead Kilauea with 12 points followed by Alquinn Jimenez adding 11.

Janna

Soto’s 12 points and Ashley Meir’s 9 points topped the Kaumakani Supersonics’

scoring in their 47-10 win over the Hanapepe RefuGs for the 14-Under girls

game.

Tehane Andaya’s 4 points and Cheryl Badua’s 3 points topped the

Hanapepe scoring.

Valerie Aficial and Starlene Kelekoma fired 6 points each

as they paced the Puhi Wildcats to a 30-22 win over the Lihu`e team who was

headed by Maile Deguchi’s 7 points, and Ashley Belisario and Kristen Matsunaga

chipping in 5 points apiece.
