I never
thought that I would be writing a letter thank my electric company with all my
heart. For many of us on Kauai, the financial times are hard, and the cost of
electricity is a serious problem, but Kauai Electric has performed a small
miracle at our house through its Energy Wise Programs.
First, a nice man
came who studies our energy usage, and then gave us water saving faucet ends
and expensive energy saving light bulbs. Then Ms. Harrington came and arranged
for a complete solar water heating system to be installed at a price that I
could afford. The payments on the system are less than the amount that I am
saving right now, so that system is for all intents and purposes free also.
I support the electric company’s Energy Wise Solar Program and appreciate
the incentives that are offered to make switching to solar energy more
affordable.
