WAIMEA – The Menehunes got an unusually tough battle from Kapa’a Wednesday
night before rolling to a 15-6, 15-12 victory in the first match of the second
round.
Waimea’s Ashley Hori led all players with eight kills. Teammate
Britnee Boeder added six.
Kapa’a junior Megan Shimamoto led her team with
two kills. But the Warriors proved a tough team to pass for Waimea. Kapa’a did
an improved job of digging kill attempts, and sustaining rallies.
In jayvee
action, the Waimea girls won 15-4, 15-9. The Menehunes’ boys also won, 15-4,
8-15, 15-4.
