start?
How about the fully renovated store interior, with new shelves and
milk chill area?
OK, then, what about the new Westside Deli and bakery,
inside the store in the vicinity of the former Kaua’i Kitchens snack bar,
offering up hot lunches, bento, fresh-baked breads, cakes, pastries, and
more?
All right, then, we’ll throw in the Chicken Store, where you can get
your hands on whole, half, or by-the-piece rotisserie chicken, as well as
golden fried chicken by the bucket, piece or meal, with sides like mashed
potatoes, gravy, cole slaw, and potato and macaroni salad.
Were not through
yet.
Come in and get reacquainted with Priscilla Orsatelli, new bakery and
deli manager.
Installed at the Westside Deli last week was a computerized
cake-decorating machine, capable of turning your individual, couple, family or
team photo into an edible cake topping.
Wesley Park, Big Save, Inc. vice
president of sales and operations, says the new machine is perfect for helping
to make sweet creations ideal for graduations, birthdays, team parties,
weddings, anniversaries, and other special occasions.
The entire store has
new hours, 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Sunday, while the Westside Deli will be open 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a
week.
The deli will serve breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and lunch from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Park said, offering around five different lunch selections a
day, which will vary from day to day, in addition to the regular bakery and
chicken offerings.
Tossed and somen salads will be made fresh daily, too.
Chili with rice, loco moco, and a variety of hamburgers, cheeseburgers and
teriburgers are included in the lunch menu. Bakery items along Baker’s Blvd.
include fresh-baked breads, rolls, pan de sal, Danish, bagels, scones, pies,
doughnuts, cakes, and more.
Pies will be offered by the piece or whole pie,
and special orders will be taken for platters and other items. A seating area
inside the store completes the Westside Deli ambiance.
The whole-store
renovations took around two months to complete, and now it’s time to
celebrate.
The store grand re-opening is this Wednesday, Nov. 1, with a
blessing by the Rev. Don Wills of Waimea United Church of Christ at 8 a.m.,
followed by the traditional untying of the maile lei, and grand opening
celebration featuring cake, coffee and cold drinks.
