Saturday was good for Waimea in Kaua’i Interscholastic Federation bowling action. After registering second-place finishes in both boys’ and girls’ competition last week, the Menehunes improved, winning the boys match outright, and matching Kaua’i for first place in girls’ action.

competition last week, the Menehunes improved, winning the boys match outright,
and matching Kaua’i for first place in girls’ action.
The Waimea boys
totaled eight points to Kapa’a’s three and Kaua’i’s one. High games for the
Menehunes were bowled by John J. Mission (226, 225) and Joshua Peralta (223).
Kapa’a got stellar performances from Justin Ogata (204) and Sam Tupou (191).
Kaua’i’s Bryson Koerte turned in a 211 effort.
Both the Waimea and Kaua’i
girls earned five points, while Kapa’a scored two.
Virginia Aguilar (228,
180) bowled high games for the Menehunes. Kaua’i’s Kelsi Sakai (201) and Shalea
Simao (196) bowled well.
