Janice Patricks
Janice Patricks died on Kaua’i on April 22, 2001, at the age of 74.
Born in Sacramento, Calif., she marred Pat Patricks on Oct. 14, 1945 while attending San Jose State. She owned and operated Pixie Pastures Nursery School and Doctor Dolphin’s Swim school in Campbell for many years. Upon retirement, she moved with her husband to Lakeport, Calif. where they operated a small resort next to Clearlake. The couple traveled to Kaua’i many times, and were long time “returnees” at the Coco Palms resort before building a home in Wailua Houselots in 1983.
A wonderful seamstress who loved to make many arts and crafts, she also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife to her husband “Pat” Patricks, and spent many, many years attending to his care. She was a kind, thoughtful and wonderful person, who gave selflessly to her husband, children and family.
She is pre-deceased by her husband of 55 years, Pat Patricks, who died on March 7, 2001. She is survived by three daughters, Lonna Patricks of Lihu’e, Kathy Weldon of Lakeport, Calif., and Karri Stone of Wailua. She has 10 grandchildren, Michael, Kristin, Dawn, Kevin, Lacey, Nicole, Stevi, Keeley, Jessy and Amy. She also has 8 great-grandchildren: Nathan, Christopher, Brittany, Dakota, Alexis, Tiffanee, Preston, Jennee and was expecting the 9th great-grandchild in October.
She is also survived by her sister Carolyn (Wendell) Johnson of Campbell, Calif., and cousin Bill (Diane) King of David, Calif., plus nieces, nephews and their families.
Memorial services has been changed. Services will be held Saturday, April 28, at Nawiliwili Park near the Playground at 4 p.m.
Abraham Kawaihalau
Abraham Haleau Kawaihalau of Lihu’e, Kaua’i, died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital April 24, 200, at the age of 71.
Born in Nawiliwili, Kaua’i on July 24, 1929, he was a commercial fisherman.
He is survived by one brother: Donald “Hawk” (Verna) Kawaihalau of Kapa’a; caregiver and sister-in-law: Lydia Kawaihalau; one hanai son: Brock Kawaihalau of Wailua; caregiver: Harry Kawaihalau, III of Honolulu, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 5, at Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. where services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
Randy Lewis
Randy Lewis (Ralph Andrew Lewis), died April 15, 2001, at the age of 59.
A guitar player, teacher, and computer lover, he was born Sept. 4, 1942, in Brookline, Mass
He will be missed by his sweetheart Pat, his fellow band members in “Vic & the Victimz,” and all his friends and family.
The son of Dr. David and Carolyn Loewenstein Lewis, of Brookline, Mass, he is survived by his brother Tony in Tracy, Calif., his aunt and uncle in New York, and family in New York, Philadelphia, Cleveland, and Cambridge, England. A memorial service was held on Mana o ka’aina beach on Sunday, April 22.
Marjorie Kaulili
Marjorie Mewlan Kaulili of Koloa, Kaua’i died at her residence April 23, 2001 at the age of 73.
Born in Hanapepe, Kaua’i on May 28, 1927, she was a homemaker.
Preceded in death by her husband Springwater Kaulili, she is survived by one son: Springwater (Verna) Kaulili of Poipu; five daughters: Donna (Henry) Kupahu of Kailua, O’ahu; Doreen Kaulili of Honolulu, O’ahu; Dianna (Kelley) Phillips of Lihu’e; Danette (Kevin) Takahashi of O’ahu; Debby Kaulili of Honolulu; Mother: Clara S. Yuen of O’ahu; one sister: Dorothy (Walter) Ching of O’ahu; one brother: Sam C. (Florence) Seto, Jr., of Oregon; one brother-in-law: Lordie O. Kaulili of O’ahu, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, May 4, at Borthwick Kaua’i Chapel in Koloa from 9 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kaua’i Veteran Cemetary. She will be intered by her husband in Hanapepe.

Juliana Catiggay
Juliana Refareal Catiggay of Lihu’e, Kaua’i died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital April 23, 2001 at the age of 75.
Born in the Philippines, on June 19, 1926, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son; Danillo “Dandi” (Connie) Catiggay, of Hanama’ulu, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Monday, April 30, at Immaculate Conception Church from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. where services will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Kaua’i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kaua’i Mortuary.
