LIHU’E – Four O’ahu Mustang baseball teams, one from Maui, one from Hawai’i, and two teams from Kaua’i will converge on the Lihu’e County Park starting this Saturday to vie for the Hawai’i Region Mustang championship.
Saturday’s action commences with a pair of O’ahu teams matching mettle starting at 8 a.m. followed by the formal opening ceremonies at 10:30 a.m.
The first of two Kaua’i teams, the East Kaua’i (Lihu’e) all-stars take on the Maui squad starting at 11 a.m.
Kaua’i’s second team, the West Kaua’i all-stars will tangle with the Hawai’i team for the day’s third game at 1:30 p.m.
A pair of O’ahu teams will round out Saturday’s offerings with a 4 p.m. starting pitch.
Sunday’s action commences at 8:30 a.m. with four games scheduled. The results of Saturday’s outings will determine the Sunday pairings.
Three games are on the boards for Monday with a pair of games on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Monday’s games start at 9 a.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday action starts at 10 a.m.
The title game starts at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Lihu’e Baseball Association is the host for this Mustang state tournament, and offers all the excitement of a state tournament.
