If you are blinded by bodies at Hanalei Bay’s Pine Trees, don’t flip out. The island isn’t sinking.
What you are seeing is the 24th Annual Longboard Classic, which will run from 8 a.m. on Saturday through Sunday and will feature over 100 to 200 surfers from all over Hawaii and beyond.
The age groups run from 12-under to 60-over – it is recommended that all longboarders who want to participate show up as early as possible to sign in.
The competition, organized and sponsored by Hanalei Surf Company, is not just for surfing. Hang out, eat some foot, set up a tent and enjoy the sights of Kaua’i’s favorite surf event.
