If you’ve seen a bunch of big guys storming Nawiliwili Park several days a week, don’t worry.
They’re on your side.
They are the Kaua’i Cowboys Football team, and if you haven’t seen them at various charity functions in recent months, you can get a glimpse on Saturday, May 11, in their first regular season game at Vidinha Stadium.
The Cowboys, Kaua’i’s own semi-professional football team, will host Oahu 2001 champs Na Kani Koa in a battle to test where they stand in this year’s Island-wide ranks.
“They’ve always had a good squad and will be tough,” said Cowboys coach and player Al Ahlou. “We have a run-and-shoot type offense, and we are hoping it can get us numbers on the scoreboard early.”
The Cowboys will host the Hilo Storm on May 18.
More information on the Kauai Cowboy season will be featured later this week.
