The Lihue Transfer Station near Lihu’e Airport no longer accepts white goods, and neither do any of the other county transfer stations from Princeville to Hanapepe.
Drop-off is free to the public for residential white goods at Puhi and Kekaha, but there is a fee imposed on commercial haulers.
The Puhi Metals Recycling Center (PMRC) accepts white goods Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on certain county holidays.
The PMRC is located on Puhi Road, just past the Puhi Industrial Park.
White goods are enamel-coated electrical and mechanical household appliances, usually white in color, made primarily of metal.
Businesses and commercial entities that wish to dispose of white goods should call the PMRC at 623-0697, for information on applicable disposal fees.
For more information, please call the county Department of Public Works the solid waste section, 241-6891 or 241-6863.
