Kaua’i rental business named a top agent
Fortune magazine has named Kauai Vacation Rentals & Real Estate, Inc. among the world’s “Top 25 Villa Agents,” the only Hawai’i company to gain that designation. The company, owned and co-founded by Lucy Kawaihalau, celebrated 25 years in business last month.

Murata, Canute honored by SBA
Jeff Murata and Tom Canute of First Hawaiian Bank locations on Kaua’i were recently honored at the 2002 U.S. Small Business Administration Lenders Awards breakfast in Honolulu, with top awards for contributions to the success of the small business community through the granting of loans.
For the third straight year, First Hawaiian Bank was named the SBA Lender of the Year in the large-bank category, approving 53 loans to small businesses for nearly $8 million. The loans are guaranteed by the SBA.
Here’s a bit more on Eastside spa
There was a bit of misinformation in last Sunday’s story about The Royal Coconut Coast Spa at the Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy. First, the Maunalani Spa does not offer a program for battered women. Also, the international spa conference spa co-owner Heidi Chock attended recently in California was sponsored by the International Spa Association, not the American Massage Therapy Association.
