Pleasant Hawaiian plans spring flights
Pleasant Hawaiian recently announced it will resume nonstop service between Lihu’e Airport and Los Angeles, starting in April with a once-a-week flight operated by American Trans Air. By summer, a San Francisco flight will be added.
Pleasant Hawaiian is owner and operator of the Kauai Coconut Beach Hotel in Waipouli, and annually sends thousands of visitors to Kaua’i through its travel agency and other visitor-related entities.
Local contractor encourages voting
Bob Bentley of Us Guys Builders LLC (limited liability company) in Kapa’a gave his 30-person workforce three hours of paid time off the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 5, encouraging them to use the time to exercise their American right to vote in the general election.
Meeting on tourism impacts set for Lihu’e
A public meeting to discuss potential impacts of tourism on the state’s infrastructure, environment, economy and culture is set for next Monday, Nov. 25, beginning at 7 p.m. in the Kauai High School cafeteria.
The forum will include a discussion of an ongoing study, Planning for Sustainable Tourism in Hawai’i. A Web site has been established, www.hawaiitourismstudy.com, where written comments are being accepted. Draft reports and other products of the project are being posted on the Web site as they become available.
