Kaua’i police are seeking the whereabouts of two men reported missing this week in Lihu’e, in separate incidences.
Christopher Malana Bacsain, 32, of 1978 Leleiona St., Lihu’e, was last seen Monday about 1 a.m. walking towards Lihue Plantation Mill on Haleko Street. Bacsain suffers from mental illness and takes prescription medication.
Bacsain wears glasses. He weighs approximately 200 pounds and is six feet tall with a fair complexion. He was barefoot when he left home and was wearing brown shorts and a brown striped polo shirt. Bacsain mother reported him missing after they got into an argument on Sunday at about 11 p.m.
Donald Hugh Hardesty, Jr., 27, was reported missing Wednesday at about 7:30 p.m. by his caretaker. Hardesty is six feet tall, weighs about 185 pounds, has hazel eyes and black hair.
According to the caretaker, Hardesty frequently leaves his residence for several days, then returns, but this is the first instance in which Hardesty did not return after three days.
Hardesty was last seen near Lihu’e Public Library on Sunday, wearing a black/silver snap-away pants, a black long-sleeved shirt, black-and-white sneakers, a gold 49ers jacket and was carrying two black backpacks. Hardesty’s address is listed as 5236 Ua Street in Kapa’a.
Hardesty suffers from bipolar disorder and has reportedly stopped taking his prescribed medication.
