An autopsy performed on the body found yesterday in the Maha’ulepu area positively identified John Harrington, who was reported missing two weeks ago today.
The autopsy also showed no signs of foul play, according to a spokesperson for the County of Kauai.
Harrington, a client of the Association for Retarded Citizens of Kauai, was mentally disabled, and was last seen by his caretaker at Poipu Beach Park on Wednesday, Nov. 20, where he and the caretaker were eating lunch.
After lunch, Harrington went for a walk alone, and never returned. He had reportedly been seen later that day in the vicinity of the Hyatt Regency Kauai Resort & Spa pool, and CJM Country Stables on the Maha’ulepu side of the Poipu Bay Golf Course.
Also yesterday, Kauai Police Department officials released information about a suspected missing person, Donna Porter, who also goes by the name “Dauphine.”
She is African American, 31, around five foot, six inches tall, weighing 124 pounds, and has brown eyes, brown hair in dreadlocks, and a slim build with dark complexion.
She has a tattoo of a dolphin on her stomach, and was last heard from nearly two months ago. She likes to sing karaoke, and has an unspecified disability.
