Brad and Cecilia Gipolan of Kapaa first sampled Dippin’ Dots ice cream with their children a few years ago, while visiting the Ala Moana Center store in Waikiki.
Now, they are franchisees of the island’s first Dippin’ Dots ice cream store, inside the Coconut Marketplace in Waipouli.
The store grand opening was yesterday, Saturday, June 14, and the Gipolans, Kapaa residents, are running the store as a team.
Formerly manager of the Hilo Hattie store in Lihue, Brad Gipolan remains active with the Kauai Visitors Bureau.
The store offers ice cream in a variety of flavors, including chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, banana split, peanut butter chip, blue bubblegum, cotton candy, cookies and cream, orange sherbet, and more.
The store also features Bubble drinks, soft drinks, T-shirts, and more.
Founded in 1998, Dippin’ Dots, the Ice Cream of the Future, has 250 stores, and can also be found at 1,500 fairs and festivals, and 500 theme parks and attractions across the United States.
Dippin’ Dots is different from other ice creams because of the way it is super-frozen, with high-tech, cryogenic processors.
The new location is open seven days a week, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For more information, please call 823-9499, or e-mail mailto:kbc@verizonmail.com. For more information on Dippin’ Dots, please see http://www.dippindots.com.
