PUHI — Victor and Ku‘ulei Punua of Lihu‘e marked fifty years of marriage Saturday night with one of the major parties of the season.

The event was held at the Kilohana Carriage House and organized by the Punua family, including their son, kumu hula Wallis Punua, and their daughter Ku‘ulei Johnson of Moloa‘a.

It was attended by hundreds of wellwishers, including guests from the North Shore to the Westside, as well as guests from Ni‘ihau, including the Nawai Aloha O Ni‘ihau band.

The couple are well known on Kaua‘i for their work with hula, and for the family’s insurance company in Lihu‘e, the Punua Insurance Agency.
