KILAUEA — Lihu‘e On Fire may have outscored Wailua in the second and third quarters, but when the buzzer sounded, Wailua walked off with the win behind a 12-point showing from Matthew Lindsey as the KYBA Boys 14-Under closed the Kilauea Neighborhood Center Wednesday night.
Lindsey was one of the Wailua wedge that was driven by John Beralas who also finished with a dozen points to share high-point honors with Lindsey.
Hard play by the Wailua boys in green was matched by equally tough play by the On Fire yellowshirts, Lester Alacar keeping On Fire in the game with a late third quarter trey to stalemate the contest 27-27 going into the final frame.
