Marc Cagdan
Marc Rodney Riofta Cagdan of Lihu‘e, died May 2, 2004, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 16.
A student at Kaua‘i High School, he was born July 21, 1987, in Lihu‘e.
He is survived by his mother: Aida Riofta of Lihu‘e, father: Montero Cagdan of Washington, two sisters: Amanda Cagdan and Courtney Cagdan, both of Lihu‘e; one brother: Manny “Max” Cagdan of Lihu‘e; grandmother: Lucia Riofta of Lihu‘e; grand-uncle: Jacson (Remy) Guyang of Hanama‘ulu; four uncles: Hilario Riofta of Honolulu, Mar (Wilma) Riofta of Texas, Pete (Florence) Riofta of Lihu‘e, and Pati (Valerie) Riofta of Kapahi; and one aunt: Linda (Michael) Infante of Mililani, O‘ahu.
Visitation was held on Friday, May 7, at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia at 1 p.m. with prayer service at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will be held again on Saturday, May 8, at Immaculate Conception Church at 8:30 a.m., Mass to be said at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Alice K. Napoleon Iida
Alice K. Napoleon Iida died April 22, 2004 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 90. Born Dec. 28, 1913, she was a retired secretary at GTE Hawaiian Tel with 42 years of service.
Preceded in death by her husband, Benedict Iida, Jr., who died April 8, 2004, she is survived by two sons: Ronald (Jean) Iida of Lihu‘e and Sherwood (Sylvia) Iida of Kapa‘a; one daughter: Jocelyn (the late Clyde) Yamamoto of Lihu‘e; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were held Friday, May 7 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with visitation at 6 p.m. and Mass to follow at 6:30 p.m.
Arrangements were handled by Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
Lawrence Dotimas
Lawrence “Cuppie” Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele died at Wilcox Memorial Hospital on Apr. 25, 2004 at the age of 53.
Born in Waimea, Kauai on June 7, 1950, he is survived by son, Walter Dotimas of Kekaha; four daughters, Sheri Apilado, Laurice (Kai) Kawaihalau, Azua (Lati) Dotimas and Carlie (Ike) Kaohelaulii all of Kekaha; 19 grandchildren; mother, Helen Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele; six brothers, Juan (Shirley) Ipac of ‘Ele‘ele, Gilbert Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele, Tony (Donna) Dotimas of Puhi, Mark Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele, Jerome (Paula) Dotimas of Hanapepe and David Dotimas of ‘Ele‘ele; four sisters, Aileen (Bill) Farias of Lihu‘e, May Callejo of ‘Ele‘ele, Gladys (Keo) Kapule of Lihu‘e and Avis (Brian) Hao of Lihu‘e; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family at 9 a.m. on Sat.urday, May 8, at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel; service at 11 a.m. Followed by burial at Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery. Casual attire is suggested.

Maraia Miner
Maraia Miner of Kapa‘a died May 4, 2004, at her home at the age of 80.
Born Oct. 11, 1928, in Maui, she was a nurse.
She is survived by one son Raymond “Ray” Miner of Kapa‘a; one grandson: Kekoa Miner; one granddaughter: Michelle Miner; caregiver and best friend: Jeanine “Gigi” Pundyke of Kapa‘a; and two sisters: Kuulei (Charles) Plunkett and Dolly Cummings.
Services will be held Saturday, May 8, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary Chapel in Koloa with viewing from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. and service to begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by burial at Lihue Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Harue Sonoda
Harue Sonoda of Captain Cook, Hawai‘i, died on May 2, 2004, at Kona Community Hospital at the age of 86.
Born in Honaunau, she was a coffee farmer and member of Central Kona Union Church.
She is survived by sons, Bob A. (Carole) Sonoda of Honolulu; Gary T. Sonoda of Las Vegas; Oren H. (Ruth) Sonoda of Honolulu; daughter, Hisako (Hiroshi) Chinen of Alaska; and Sandra K. (Kenji) Kusano of Alaska; brother, Robert K Fukushima of Alaska; sisters-in-laws, Matsue Fukushima of Kaua‘i and Tsurue Matsushima of Hilo; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 8 at Kona Central Union Church with visitation at 10 a.m. and service to begin at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Kona Central Union Church Cemetery at noon. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home.
