The Kawaihau Community major’s all-stars failed to advance to the next round of the Little League playoffs, by falling to a tough Kailua squad, 10-5 on Wednesday.
Instead, the Kawaihau little leaguer’s will have to settle for second-place in district one of the major’s division. Braden Rapozo led the all-stars at the plate by going 4-4, with a single, 2 doubles, 1 homerun, and 1 RBI. BJ Aiwohi smacked 2 singles and Palani Mawae slapped a single for Kawaihau. Ansen Villatora ripped a double and 2 RBI and Mikey Cremer cracked a single and an RBI. Aaron Belmonte rounded out the batting leaders with a single.
Kawaihau managed to put in a stellar performance on the defensive end, by turning 2 double plays. Roger Taniguchi-Fu was the starting pitcher and Braden Rapozo came in for relief of Taniguchi-Fu in the fourth inning to finish off the contest.
