Marathon group promotes Tilker
The Marathon Group LLC, is pleased to announce the promotion of Marc C. Tilker to President and Chief Executive Officer.
Marathon Group is the parent company of BEI Hawaii, the state’s largest distributor of agricultural and industrial fertilizers and chemicals; HT&T Truck Center which sells and maintains Peterbilt, Volvo, Autocar and medium duty GMC trucks; BES, environmental consultants; and BTS, its newest group providing construction project management and information technology assistance.
Tilker will oversee Marathon Group LLC and its subsidiary operations. He has been Acting President and CEO since June.
With 22 years of business experience, Tilker has been with Marathon Group and its predecessor companies, Brewer Environmental Industries and C. Brewer, for more than 13 years.
Tilker is active in community service, having served on several Boards.
He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii State Chapter of the American Red Cross.
Marathon Group looks forward to continued service with its customers and suppliers from its experienced employees and management team.
Lions Golf Tourney Oct. 9
The Lions Golf Tournament is set for Saturday, October 9 at the Princeville Makai Golf Course.
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
The $80 entry include green fees, cart, cookout, and prizes.
All golfers are invited to participate.
This is a Kaua‘i North Shore Lions Club fundraiser, and entry forms will be available at all Kaua‘i Golf Courses and at Pro-Am Golf, or call 826-7963.
County announces registration for girls basketball program
LIHU‘E – Kaua‘i girls aged 14 and under are encouraged to participate in the County of Kaua‘i’s Girls Basketball Program, which will begin in mid-November.
Registration for the program began yesterday, Oct. 4 and continues through this Friday.
Registration for the program is taking place at all neighborhood centers and the County of Kaua‘i Recreation Agency office in the Pi‘ikoi Building at the Lihu‘e Civic Center.
A fee of $30 per applicant covers the league cost for officials and awards.
Checks and money orders, payable to County of Kaua‘i, Director of Finance, are accepted.
Officials remind the public that a parent or guardian must sign the participant’s application form.
The league will begin in mid-November and end in late December or early January, depending on the number of teams entered in league play.
Registration will continue through Friday, October 8.
