Rommald Wabinga
Rommald “Mel” Lawas Wabinga of Kapa‘a died at home on May 10, 2005, at the age of 69.
Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu, on Feb. 7, 1936, he retired as a chef and cook and worked at various hotels and restaurants during his career.
He is survived by his wife Epifania “Rose” Wabinga of Kapa‘a, three sons; Mark Wabinga of Seattle Wash., Anthony (Sandra) Wabinga of Kapa‘a, Ronald (Desiree) Wabinga of O‘ahu, one daughter; Roselyn (Paul) Suguitan of Arizona, two brothers; Carl (Gigi) Wabinga of Seattle, Wash., Larry Wabinga of O‘ahu, two sisters; Victoria Guigui & Valerie (Chris) Wabinga both of O‘ahu; seven grandchildren, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, May 20, at St. Catherine Church in Kapahi, with viewing from 10 a.m. and services starting at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home in Kapaia.
Arrangements are being handled by Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
Alfred Andrade
Alfred Andrade of Lawai, died May 12, 2005, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 76.
Born Sept. 9, 1928, in Kalaheo, he retired as an assistant maintenance supervisor for Wilcox Hospital and Poipu Beach Resort & Waiohai Hotel.
Preceded in death by parents, Manuel and Minnie Andrade, and two brothers, Joseph and Antone Andrade, he is survived by his wife, Susan Pedronan Andrade; one brother: Manuel (Mae) Andrade; two sisters: Beatrice A. Costa and Margaret A. Medeiros; one sister-in-law: Dorothy Andrade; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, where Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. by Father Nap.
Burial to follow at Holy Cross Church Cemetery.
Casual attire is suggested. Arrangements are being handled by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
Ernest Vegas Perry
Ernest Vegas Perry of Kapa‘a, died at his home on May 14, 2005, at the age of 79.
Born in Honoka‘a, Big Island on May 3, 1926, he was a retired electrician.
Preceded in death by son, Warren Bidwell, he is survived by his wife, Anita; son, Larry (Angela) Mills of Seattle, Wash.; two daughters, Anne (Tom) Mikulski and Ellen Keliinoi, both of Honolulu, O‘ahu; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Kapa‘a; service officiated by Father James Orsini will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date at Valley of Temples, O‘ahu.
Casual attire is suggested, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kauai Hospice who helped to ease Ernie through his final days.
