“Slide into spring and jump for joy” is the theme of a three-day fun fest set for Lydgate Park, near Kamalani Playground, during spring break.
Officials and volunteers from KIDS (Kauai Independent Daycare Services, Inc.) preschool in Kapa‘a will man the Aloha Keiki Inflatables, water slides and jumpers, Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Participants should bring their swim suits and towels, KIDS leaders said in a press release.
Parents are cautioned that KIDS officials and volunteers will not be responsible for children.
This is a family-fun activity to enjoy during spring break. Last year, adults were seen sliding into spring with their keiki.
Proceeds will benefit KIDS preschool, a nonprofit preschool for 78, 3- and 4-year-olds.
The school has served Kaua‘i families since 1989, and continues to offer an innovative learning program designed to educate young children while enriching their lives through activities that stimulate the left and right hemispheres of the brain, teachers said in a press release.
Children entering preschool are at an age when brain development is most crucial, said Phyllis Kunimura, director.
Some 90 percent of brain development happens before age 5.
KIDS leaders strive to provide the most positive and successful learning experiences that will assist children to develop into the best little person that he or she can be.
Always on the cutting edge, Kunimura, referred to by many as “a true pioneer in the field of education,” has added a unique intervention and prevention program, “Time For Me,” which she created to provide extra individualized, one-to-one attention and guidance for children who require more time to develop socially, physically, emotionally and/or cognitively.
