Joining forces for the purposes of learning more about endangered, extinct and endemic plants were students of Kula Kaiapuni o Kapa‘a from Kapa‘a Elementary School, and several students from Ke Kula Ni‘ihau o Kekaha public charter school in Kekaha.
They toured the National Tropical Botanical Garden Limahuli Garden recently, according to a press release sent in by Corrina Sabala, vice president of Na Leo Kako‘o, the parent support group for Kula Kaiapuni o Kapa‘a.
They were hosted by leaders of Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i, and in addition to learning about the rare and endangered plants in the garden, they also created leaf art, learned how to mae crafts out of natural fibers, and were given tours of the garden.
