Officials with Heartherapy and M announced in a press release they are presenting in concert tomorrow at 7 p.m. Kimba Arem, performer, recording artist and sound therapist.
The show is at the Bliss Temple, 4560 Kuawa Rd. in Kilauea.
Traditionally trained in piano and flute, she will play these and many other instruments, and will present a sound journey into the heart of inner freedom, she said.
A musician and scientist, she will weave the two modalities together into a magical, therapeutic and inspiring tapestry of sound vibrations, she said.
Arem holds a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona and, while attending graduate school in acupuncture and studying Chinese Taoist medicine, she was introduced to sound therapy.
Since then she has developed her own unique practice, grown out of extensive subtle-energy training in sound as medicine, herbology, reiki (she is a master level practitioner) and aromatherapy.
Her main instrument is the Australian didjeridu, but she also uses Native American flutes, four-chambered Celtic flute, Tibetan and crystal bowls, keyboards, tingshaws, tuning forks, a harp, vocal overtoning, and more. The suggested donation tomorrow is $15 per person. For further information, call 823-6238.
