A lot of people had a long day, but it was worth congratulating six of Kaua‘i’s newest officers — Donald Bruyn, Sam Fernandez, Bruce Nance, Colin Nesbitt, Aaron Relacion and Christina Soltren! Especially when three of the new police officers are products of our three public high schools!
Officer Hank Barriga had the Waimea Town Celebration covered in spite of the fact Sgt. Mark Begley “threatened” all six new officers with post-graduation initiation in Waimea … but the aroma from the stir fry stations set up at the ResortQuest Kaua‘i Beach at Maka‘iwa softened that threat.
Hats off to Chris Fayé and her fabulous committee on another great Waimea event … running out of parking spaces, though.
Ishihara Market was open from 7 a.m. Saturday to take advantage of some of the early morning events (JK was heading to the rodeo in all the traffic, and still made it back to the Miss Kaua‘i pageant). And Kurt Toma was full-on with the football toss for the Waimea athletic program … they’ll be playing a Canadian team for pre-season.
David and Jennifer (they’re doing some stuff for Sony HD pro-sumer for an upcoming convention) must’ve been following JK since they were also at the rodeo and made it back to the pageant … Hamura Saimin afterwards? Hm-m-m … what did Art Umezu say?
