The Sunset Bridge Club of Princeville was recently notified by ACBL Headquarters that it has been certified as a sanctioned ACBL Club to conduct Duplicate Bridge games on Kaua‘i.
“This is the first club ever sanctioned to operate on Kaua‘i,” said club manager R.C. Smith.
The Princeville Sunset Club is now part of ACBL Unit 470 in Honolulu and is the 11th sanctioned club in Hawai‘i, according to a club release.
Sanctioned games are played each Saturday at the Church of the Pacific in Princeville at 1 p.m., and results are reported for all island bridge clubs on page A2, usually in the Monday issue of The Garden Island.
Information about the Kaua‘i games are now posted on the ACBL Web site — ACBL.org — and all player data is maintained at ACBL headquarters in Memphis, Tenn., the release states.
All players — ACBL members or otherwise — are welcome, though the club will follow ACBL game protocols including courtesy, friendliness and zero tolerance. Members on Kaua‘i and visitors can earn International Masterpoints, to be reported to ACBL and included in the ACBL monthly bulletin.
Sunset Club officials include President Lenda Helser, Betty Carroll, Barbara Adair, Rob Van Ekeren, and R.C. Smith.
