Steven Jure
Steven Vincent Jure, 44, born in California and a resident of Kaua‘i for 22 years died March 3, 2007 in his Kilauea home from complications to a brain injury sustained May 28, 2005.
He is survived by parents Joyce and Vincent; wife Amy; son Kai; daughters Danielle and Monique; brothers Paul and David; sister, Gwenn and a wonderful group of extended family and friends. Steven was considered by friend and family the heart and soul of his Hanalei restaurants, Zelos and Sushi Blues and cherished his role as a father most in life.
Family and friends welcome to join the island ‘ohana to celebrate Steven’s life on Saturday March 17, at 4 p.m. at Kalihiwai Beach.
Steven is a precious soul that will be missed deeply, his family says.

Charles Hiramoto
Charles Isami Hiramoto of Kalaheo died at home on March 9, 2007, at the age of 80. Born in Koloa on Feb. 4, 1927, he was a bus transportation officer with the State of Hawai‘i.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Hiramoto; son Charles (Mauren) Hiramoto of Kalaheo and Lane (Iris) Hiramoto of Mililani, O‘ahu; daughters Janis Cox of Honolulu, O‘ahu, Lynn (Patrick Murphy) Douthit of Austin, Texas and Rae (Orland Valvieja) Hiramoto of Kapa‘a; three grandchildren Tiana (William) Litvin, Shannon and Calen Hiramoto; mother-in-law Florence Kamei; numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, March 22, at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel; service at 4 p.m. Casual attire is suggested and that flowers be omitted.
Arrangements are being handled by Garden Island Mortuary, Ltd.
Donald Huntsinger
Donald Wilson Huntsinger of Lihu‘e died March 6, 2007, at Queen’s Medical Center at the age of 74.
Born June 3, 1932, in Montana, he worked on the family farm before joining the Navy in 1951 and served in the Korean War.
In 1965, at Pacific Missile Range, Pt. Mugu, Calif., he participated in the development and management of Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands. In 1966, he moved with his family to work for the Federal government, Department of the Navy as a civil service employee at PMRF, Barking Sands on Kaua‘i. He retired as a Range Communications Supervisor in 1988.
He is survived by his wife, Mickey Huntsinger; daughters Pat Yost of California, Lisa Huntsinger of the Big Island and Donna (John) Pimental of Waimea; grandson Nathan Yost and four great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. at Kauai Christian Fellowship in Po‘ipu located on Koloa bypass road.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Roy Katsumi Yaka
Roy Katsumi Yaka of California, died Feb. 21, 2007, after a long illness at the age of 75.
Born in 1931, he was a long time California resident and spent a majority of his life in thoroughbred horse racing, as a jockey and trainer.
A memorial service was held at Skylawn Memorial Park in the Chapel of Light on March 7.
He is survived by son Royce, brothers Leslie Yaka, Herbert Yaka and Patrick Yaka; sisters Tomiko Sokei, Miyoko Wakayama, Violet Abe and Dorothy Mahelona; and numerous nieces and nephews.
