Weather permitting, water service for properties along several roadways in Koloa and Kukui‘ula will be shut down beginning tonight for approximately five hours from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m. Affected roadways include: Lawa‘i Road (from the Po‘ipu Road junction to Spouting Horn Park); Pu‘uholo Road; Maulili Road; Kahe¯ka Road; Ho‘ona Road; Amio Road; Alania Road.
The water shutdown is necessary in order for the water department staff to disconnect and abandon the existing 40-year-old waterline along Po‘ipu Road. A new 16-inch waterline was recently installed and will be placed into service immediately after the shutdown.
