The Mokihana Club Women’s Golf Scramble sent 88 avid women golfers out at 8 a.m. on the Mokihana Golf Course at the Lagoons.
On their return from the links these women were eager for the delicious luncheon served in the Puna Ballroom at the Marriott Hotel.
During lunch, drawing prizes and participant gifts were handed out. Prizes were also awarded for those purchasing Mulligans and Closest-to-the Pin.
With a winning score of 69, the team of Cheryl Nickles, Kathy Richardson, Eldene Scott and Sharron Weber took home great gifts: four rounds of golf from the Princeville Resort and four quarts of macadamia nuts.
The proceeds from this tournament exclusively support the Mokihana Club’s Nursing Scholarships. With a deficit of nurses across the nation, the club is doing its part to help stem the shortage and all who aid our cause are doing theirs.
The following registered nursing students at Kaua‘i Community College received scholarships from the Mokihana Club for the 2006-2007 year: Matthew Bernabe, Chelsea Dinnan, Amalia Gray, Dressel Hario, Leslie Koga, Adora McDougal, Ruth Ochoa, Joy Ozelie and Sharlene Skripko-Ford.
The club acknowledges all the participating businesses and merchants of Kaua‘i for their kokua and the members of the Mokihana Club who helped in a myriad of large and small ways by giving of their time, effort and expertise to make this Fifth Annual Mokihana Club Women’s Golf Scramble a success.
