Weather permitting, water service for properties along several roadways in East Kilauea will be shut down Thursday, May 31, and Tuesday, June 5, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Affected roadways include:
• Huli Road, Ko‘olau Road, Kuhio Highway from Kahili Makai Street to Ko‘olau Road, North Waiakalua Street, Pu‘upane Road, Waiakalua Street, Wailapa Road.
The water service interruptions are necessary in order for contractors to connect two new pipelines to an existing water main. These connections are part of the new Kilauea Booster Pump project designed to provide improved water service to the East Kilauea area. The project is scheduled to be completed in October.
