It’s almost time for Kaua‘i’s giant slumber party — the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life this Saturday at Hanapepe Stadium.
The event begins with a reception for cancer survivors and patients at 5 p.m. followed by the honorary survivors/caregivers lap.
The public is encouraged to join the fight by lighting a candle in honor of a loved one; enjoy a great line-up of local bands; and visit all the team campsites for food, crafts, auctions and games.
Check out a kids tent sponsored by the Kaua‘i Childrens Discovery Museum, a Relay Spa, and tons of health awareness activities like free CO testing, a cooking demo, and giant colon tours.
The county’s Kaua‘i Bus is providing free pick-ups at neighborhood centers; for the schedule and to reserve a seat, call Valerie at 651-9984.
It’s all about a community taking up the fight.
See you at Hanapepe Stadium on Cinco de Mayo — this Saturday — all night long.
