The Garden Island
The Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce will host its second quarter membership meeting beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort. Central Pacific Bank CEO Clinton Arnoldus will serve as the keynote speaker, addressing the bank’s theme, “fiercely loyal banking,” as well as efforts to support Kaua‘i’s economy, according to a press release.
Registration and no-host cocktails begin at 5:30 p.m., with a dinner and program to follow at 6:30 p.m. In addition to the speaker, recipients of the chamber’s scholarship awards will be presented. They include Tasha Rames of Kapa‘a High School and Shantal Guirao of Waimea High School. Both will be attending the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa this fall. A third recipient, Clarissa Bulosan, will attend Central Washington University, and she will also major in business. Kaua‘i Community College graduate Donna Mei Ling Efhan was awarded a savings bond, states the release; she plans to pursue a bachelor. The scholarships were made possible by the chamber’s June 10 golf fund-raiser at Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course.
New chamber members will have the opportunity to set up an exhibit table at the dinner and will receive a free ad in the next newsletter. For more information, call 245-7363 or visit www.kauaichamber.org.
