Making the honor roll at Island School on Kaua‘i, Schuler Family Foundation has donated $40,000 to the school’s successful $4.6 million Campus Expansion Capital Campaign. Currently, the Capital Campaign has completed Island School’s gymnasium and is reviewing bids for the school’s county-approved Center for Hawaiian Culture & the Arts.
“We believe in making a positive impact within our communities, and we hope providing resources will help them succeed,” states Jim Schuler, president and founder of Schuler Family Foundation and West Region president for D.R. Horton — Schuler Division, in a recent press release.
“Island School is making a real difference in the lives of Kaua‘i’s children. We are proud to be part of its growth and campus expansion,” states Schuler.
While Island School has a strong track record for preparing its students for exceptional colleges such as MIT, Yale and Oberlin, it is a progressive school that values diversity and provides a generous financial aid program to ensure a broad student population.
“We are grateful for the Schuler Family Foundation’s commitment to Kauai’s
children,” writes David W. Pratt, president of Island School’s Board of Directors. “It is the commitment from organizations like Schuler Family Foundation that enables us to confidently plan for the future of our school and provide our students with an environment that fosters academic and athletic excellence as well as creativity and diversity.”
